About Me
Introduction
Hi, I’m Rhonda, a certified Reading and Early Intervention Educator and online reading and math tutor. With over 22 years of experience in education, I have honed my skills in cognitive and social development, diverse learning styles, assessment data analysis, small-group differentiated instruction, and targeted early intervention strategies. My technological savvy allows me to effectively integrate digital tools into my teaching, enhancing the learning experience for my students.
How My Experience as an Early Intervention Educator Can Help You
Throughout my career as an Early Intervention Educator, I have seen many students struggle with reading and math. Witnessing these challenges firsthand inspired me to create age- and cognitively-appropriate teaching and learning resources for elementary students. These resources provide essential intervention support and reinforce previously taught skills. Teacher and student tested and approved, they have proven effective and valuable in the classroom over many years.
Specialized Skills as an Early Intervention Educator
In addition to my extensive classroom experience, I am an Orton Gillingham instructor, have completed LETRS training, and hold a Dyslexia and Reading Endorsement. These qualifications equip me with specialized skills to support students with dyslexia and other reading difficulties. My commitment to evidence-based strategies ensures that my teaching methods are grounded in proven research, maximizing their positive impact on student achievement. By incorporating distance learning techniques, I strive to create engaging and effective learning environments for all students, regardless of location.
Personal Life
On a personal note, I am a mother of four children who inspire me every day. I love being outdoors, whether it’s exploring nature trails or enjoying a sunny day at the park. My favorite vacation spot is Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where the magic of the experience creates lasting memories for my family. I also have a passion for cooking and enjoy experimenting with new recipes and sharing delicious meals with loved ones.
Goals
Ultimately, my goal is to bridge the learning gap for students who have not met grade-level expectations and provide enrichment for those who are proficient or distinguished learners. I am dedicated to helping every student achieve their full potential through personalized, evidence-based instruction and a genuine passion for teaching.
